Onondaga County, Be it known that at a meeting of the male members of the
Universalist Society held in Oran the twenty seventh day of January Eighteen
hundred and forty two, pursuant to public notice given according to the
Statute, incorporating and regulating religious Societies in such cases
made and provided, Asher Mills and Cyrenus Bartholomew were duly nominated
and elected to preside at said meeting and to certify and return the proceedings
thereof to the Clerk of said county; That at said meeting, it was unanimously
resolved, that said Society be forever hereafter known and distinguished
by the name and title of The First Universalist Society of Pompey and Manlius.
The following persons were then duly elected Trustees of said Society,
Ebenezer Hale, Asher Mills, Ambrose Clark, Peter Bender, Ira Curtis, Abner
Duell, and that the said Trustees and their successors in office, be forever
hereafter known and called by the name and title of the Trustees of the
First Universalist Society of Pompey and Manlius. In witness whereof
we have hereunto set our hand and seals. Asher Mills, Cyrenius Bartholomew.
State of New York, Onondaga County, SS: I certify that on this seventh
day of April A. D. 1843, personally came before me Asher Mills and Cyrenus
Bartholomew to me personally known to be the same persons described in
and who executed the above certificate and severally acknowledged that
they executed the same. A. H. Jerome Judge of On. Co. Courts.
